Benefits play an important role in helping people with bleeding disorders manage their lives. These pages are intended to help you navigate the system and work out which benefits and support you might be entitled to.

The information and guidance is based on our members' experiences of making claims, particularly for Disability Living Allowance (DLA). If you are making a claim for DLA, we ask that you use the information here rather than 'phone us for help. For the time being, we are not able to offer support with individual claims for DLA.

Since April 2011, many of our adult members are now being 'migrated' from Incapacity Benefit to the new Employment and Support Allowance (ESA). We believe this will cause major problems for many. If you are receiving Incapacity Benefit and Job Centre Plus have contacted you about re-assessing you for ESA, please contact us.
